PROJECT 01 / PROOF OF CONCEPT

CLF — ConneXity Location Finder

Exploring real-time indoor positioning and route guidance for places where conventional GPS does not provide reliable room-level directions.

THE PROBLEM

When GPS reaches its limits.

University buildings and other large indoor environments contain rooms, branching corridors, stairs and multiple floors. Outdoor navigation does not reliably show which indoor room a visitor occupies, or how to reach the correct destination from that location.

CLF is an effort to connect an indoor floor map with sensor-based location estimates and navigable routes so that directions can be understandable, not just technically correct.

TECHNICAL APPROACH

Signals, spatial maps, useful guidance.

Location estimation. The prototype explores Wi-Fi received-signal-strength information (RSSI) and motion sensor readings to estimate a device's location in the mapped environment.

Maps. Detailed 2D maps distinguish walkable corridors, rooms, destinations and floor transitions. The public map should emphasize recognizable places rather than exposing routing nodes.

Route guidance. Backend work models destinations and candidate paths between them. Route distance measurements and collected sensor examples matter before those paths can be validated for practical guidance.

Indoor floor awareness. The team is researching approaches to recognizing floor changes, including signal-based and sensor-based verification. This work remains experimental.

STATUS

Proof of concept in development.

CLF is not presented as a finished, independently verified commercial navigation product. Data collection, mapping, model training, routing measurements and real-world testing are necessary to understand accuracy and usability.

No public accuracy percentage or production availability is claimed here. Performance should be reported only after reproducible field validation.

CLF received university-backed support for prototype development. Read the project milestone, meet Vymra's founders, or follow public updates.
